XW836 GREY. As WG606 WHITE/TAN

 

First Flight: 23 March 1972. Fourth to fly

Purpose: Second prototype, Initially used as a ground test airframe for resonance and vibration testing, it was later converted to the Westland 606; the civilian 12 seat proposed version.

Fate: By 1982, it was no longer required by the test programme and was put in to store at Sherbourne by Wesltand. In 1984, it moved to RNAS Yeovilton for storage before being moved to Middle Wallop in 1987 for BDR training by AETW. In 1993 it moved to Lasham to be used by DRA and then moved back to the fire dump at Middle Wallop in 1997. Reported scrapped at Middle Wallop in 1999.
